A flexible individually-scheduled, private tutoring format, video-based learning program. Teacher and/or teaching assistants are in classroom to answer questions, grade homework, and check class exercises.
Y-Z Education Services provides a computer to each student to learn math concepts and examples. A textbook will be loaned to the student to take home with a book deposit. Homework assignment is on the textbook and may take 1- 2 hours to finish.
Students need bring their own ear phones while listening to the video lesson. Pencils and notebooks are needed for taking notes and doing class exercises.
At the beginning of each class, there will be a time for students to ask questions on homework problems.
During the class, students can ask questions at any time if he/she has question.
What are the good reasons taking EVC lesson?
Besides a flexible schedule, EVC lessons offer a more streamlined approach to displaying certain graphs and charts that cannot be shown on the white board in a regular classroom. EVC is also best fit for
Students who decide to take a CBE with late notice. EVC can help these students to prepare quickly.
Students who did not take fall group class at the beginning of the semester, but decided to take Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 or Pre-Calculus at later time. He/she could starting take EVC at any time and complete whole year lessons in about 35 – 40 lessons
Students who want study the subject (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, or Chemistry) before learning the subject in school, allowing them to get better GPA.
How many topics does each lesson cover?
It normally covers two to three topics depending on the level of difficulty of learning sections and how quickly the student learns new concepts and does class exercises.
What is the difference between EVC classes and group class in fall or spring semester?
The EVC classes will cover both fall and spring semester curriculum. The videos were prepared with more examples, particularly for some complex graphs that can be difficult to show in regular classes.
If a student miss some lessons of the scheduled EVC lessons, can he (she) take EVC class?
Yes, the EVC lesson is designed for students with busy schedules that might not be able to make our regular class schedules. Each student will have his/her own schedule and works at their own pace. When he/she comes back to the classroom, he/she can continue the lesson.
My kid is learning everything slower than other kids, can he/she take EVC class?
Since each student will have his/her own schedule, EVC would better than group lesson for your kid
My kid feel group lesson is too slow, is the EVC class too slow for him/her?
Since each student will have his/her own schedule, if he/she can finish the class exercises and homework, he/she can learn more quickly. In this case, EVC is better than group lesson
How many lessons (1.5 hour) can a student complete the one EVC subject?
In general, all EVC classes are about 36 -40 (1.5 hour) lessons, which equates to approximately two lessons more than regular group lessons.
Can I copy the video and watch it at home?
No. Y-Z Educations Service reserves copyrights to all Y-Z Educations Services videos.
Can I switch subjects back and forth with one tuition payment?
No. You can only take the EVC for the subject you registered. Different subject requires a separate tuition payment
Is there a time limit to finish a EVC subject?
Yes, You need to finish the registered subject within a calendar year. For example, if you register a subject on 5/20/2020, you need to finish the subject by 5/19/2021. If you do not finish the subject by then, you will not be able to attend more EVC classes unless a new registration / payment is made.
